24/04/08 - Le dernier (jour) mais pas le moindre !
Les enfants ont eu une dernière journée riche en émotions et activités !
Les groupes formés mardi dernier ont inversé leurs activités : celui ayant fait une randonnée et un pique-nique mardi a fait de la spéléologie et construit des cabanes aujourd'hui, et vice-versa. La distance de la randonnée a été raccourcie du fait d'une météo incertaine.
Petit bilan : les enfants sont très contents de leur séjour, sont tous fiers d'avoir reçu un certificat, ont été félicités pour la qualité de leur anglais, et ont adressé un chaleureux au revoir aux animateurs du centre.
Au programme ce soir : chasse au trésor ou boum, c'est au choix ! Mais avant, ils doivent relever le défi de tout faire rentrer dans les valises...
Ils se coucheront tôt pour quitter Charterhouse demain à 7 heures (heure locale), prendre le shuttle à l'heure et arriver au point de rendez-vous final sur le parking de l'école demain à 18 heures (heure locale).
Danny ne manquera pas d'informer régulièrement les deux mamans référentes (Mme Gernath et Mme Cassola) sur le déroulement du voyage et l'heure d'arrivée à l'école.
Nous souhaitons à cette superbe équipe un excellent voyage de retour, remercions tous les accompagnants de nos enfants pour ce fabuleux séjour, et souhaitons d'heureuses retrouvailles et un repos bien mérité aux enfants/parents pour la suite des vacances !!!
04/24/08 - The last (day) but not least !
The children's last day was plenty of emotions and activities !
Last Tuesday's groups reversed their activities : the one who hiked (with picnic) last time, enjoyed caving and setting up huts today, and vice versa. The distance of the hike has been shortened due to unsettled weather.
The children are very happy with their stay, they are all proud to receive a certificate, they were praised for the quality of their English, and they warmly thanked and said goodbye to the leaders of the centre.
Tonight, they have the choice between treasure hunt or dancing party ! But first, they have to take up the challenge to put everything back into their suitcases...
They will go to bed earlier in order to leave Charterhouse tomorrow at 7 am (local time), to take the shuttle on time and to arrive at the meeting point tomorrow (school car park) at 6 pm (local time).
Danny will inform the two mothers, Ms. Gernath and Ms. Cassola, as and when required, on the travel and arrival time at school.
We wish an excellent return journey to this wonderful team, a great thankyou to the people accompanying our children during this fabulous trip, and we also wish a happy coming back and a well-earned rest to children/parents for the rest of the holidays !!!

23/04/08 - Encore une journée bien remplie !
Le moral est toujours au beau fixe, malgré une petite fatigue qui commence à se ressentir... Cette journée était encore bien remplie, le temps était magnifique : un ciel tout bleu, un soleil ravissant, et 19°C...
Les enfants étaient divisés en équipes ce matin pour effectuer une course d'orientation.
L'après-midi a été consacrée à la visite de l'Empire Museum of Bristol, où la classe de CM1 a passé en revue l'évolution de l'Empire, pendant que la classe de CM2 découvrait une très intéressante et assez impressionnante exposition sur l'esclavage.
Les enfants auront ce soir un cours d'astronomie dispensé par un animateur du centre, puis après le traditionnel moment de travail avec Anne et Cathy, ainsi que le dîner, ils iront se coucher rapidement afin de pouvoir profiter demain de la dernière journée.
04/23/08 - Another busy day !
Morale is still very good, even if the children start to feel a bit tired... They had another busy day, and the weather was wonderful : a blue sky, a beautiful sun, and 19°C...
This morning, the children were divided into teams for orienteering.
This afternoon, they visited the Empire Museum of Bristol, where the CM1 class reviewed the evolution of the Empire, while the CM2 class discovered a very interesting and quite impressive exhibition on slavery.
The children will attend a private lesson of astronomy tonight. Then, after the traditional homework with Anne and Cathy and after dinner, they will go to bed quickly to be able to enjoy the last day, tomorrow.

22/04/08 - Le soleil au rendez-vous !
Les enfants ont passé une très bonne nuit, pas de
cauchemars, pas de blues pour le moment. Les repas se passent dans la
bonne humeur et ils mangent très très bien, même trop !
Aujourd’hui les enfants ont pu se séparer de leurs manteaux car il
faisait chaud.
Ils se sont partagés en trois groupes :
le 1er groupe est parti en randonnée avec pique-nique, ils ont pu
s’arrêter pour acheter des souvenirs,
le 2e groupe en spéléologie, et ils étaient ravis,
le 3e groupe en promenade dans les bois, avec construction de cabanes,
observation de la nature, certains sont épuisés d’avoir marché,
d’autres étaient enchantés.
04/22/08 - The sun is back !
The children spent a
very good night, without nightmares nor blues for the moment. They
appreciate their meals very much and eat even too much !
Thanks to a sunny day, the children were able to take off their coats.
They were divided
into three groups :
group 1 hiked with picnic and bought some souvenirs,
group 2 enjoyed caving,
group 3 walked in the wood, setting up huts, observing nature, some
were exhausted while others were delighted.

21/04/08 - Entre soleil et pluie
Les enfants ont eu ce matin un atelier de technologie, en attendant l'arrivée du soleil. Ils avaient par équipes, un défi à relever : trouver une solution pour éviter qu'un oeuf cru lancé du toit ne s'écrase à terre. Et alors, tenez-vous bien : nous avons des génies en herbe qui ont réussi à relever le défi en fabriquant, avec le matériel fourni, une sorte de "parachute" pour l'oeuf...
L'après-midi, les enfants ont apprécié la visite des bains romains, accompagnés du soleil qui était au rendez-vous.
Après un retour au centre et un temps calme, ils ont fêté l'anniversaire de Marine et Sandra. Puis ils n'ont pu échapper à un moment de travail avec Anne et Cathy.
Voilà une journée bien remplie ! A demain pour de nouvelles aventures !
04/21/08 - Between the sun and the rain
The children had a workshop this morning. Despite the rain, they had to take up a challenge, seeking a solution to keep a fresh egg from breaking when throwing it up from the roof. Well, you won't believe it : with the given equipment, we have teams of budding geniuses who managed to build a kind of "parachute" for the lucky egg...
In the sunny afternoon, the children appreciated the visit of Roman baths.
After they came back to the center, they celebrated Marine and Sandra's birthdays. Then they could not escape from homeworking with Anne and Cathy.
What a busy day ! Tomorrow will be a new day for new funny adventures !

20/04/08 - Jour J
Arrivée à Charterhouse !!!
Toute l'équipe est arrivée à Charterhouse !
Le temps est beau, un peu venteux.
Charterhouse se trouve au milieu des prairies, avec un joli paysage vert parsemé de moutons, de brebis et de nombreux petits agneaux.
Les enfants ont été très sages. Le voyage ayant été long, ils sont bien contents d'être arrivés.
Après un tour de la propriété, ils se dégourdiront autour de jeux, dîneront puis auront un repos bien mérité...
04/20/08 - D Day
Arriving at Charterhouse !!!
The whole team has arrived at Charterhouse !
The weather is fine, a little windy.
Charterhouse is located in the middle of meadows, with a beautiful green landscape dotted with sheep, ewes and many small lambs.
The children were very wise. The journey has been long, so they are very happy they have arrived.
After visiting the center, they will relax around games, will have dinner and then will have a well-earned rest ...

20/04/08 - Jour J
Le grand départ
Tout le monde est prêt, les enfants sont ravis de partir !
Le bus est arrivé à Calais à 11h afin d'effectuer les formalités d'embarquement à bord du Shuttle.
A 11h30, départ du Shuttle pour traverser le tunnel de la Manche et arriver à Folkstone en 35 minutes.
Côté ambiance, la matinée s'est très bien déroulée, malgré un lever aux aurores ce dimanche matin.
A ce soir pour de nouvelles informations...
04/20/08 - D Day
The big departure
Everybody is ready, the children are happy to leave !
The bus arrived in Calais at 11 am to handle the boarding formalities for the Shuttle.
At 11:30 - departure of the Shuttle to cross the Channel tunnel for Folkstone in 35 minutes.
The morning went off very smoothly, despite an earlier departure this morning.

Comment se prépare le voyage à l'école ?
A l'école, le voyage se prépare depuis de longs mois, surtout avec Anne, Cathy et Romain.
Un livre de bord est en cours d'élaboration avec Cathy.
Romain a fait un cours sur l'escalade et a apporté du matériel pour le montrer aux enfants (baudrier, chaussures etc...).
La répartition des chambres a été faite.
Une charte avec les règles du séjour a été élaborée.

Preparations for the trip to England
Preparations for this trip have been going on for months at the school ! Our thanks to Anne, Cathy et Romain.
Cathy has been preparing a field logbook with the children.
Romain has been teaching the children about climbing and showing them the equipment (harness, shoes etc.).
The rooms have been allocated.
The Field Trip "Golden Rules" Charter has been drawn up.
